To all ye who want to paint with light ...

I should have started this blog many moons ago as I started experiencing the joys of rediscovering the art of photography. But as the saying goes - it's better late, than never!
So, here I am, in the hopes of recording what I learn as I progress from ignorance to enlightenment; about what my eyes can see that my camera can capture; and, what my mind imagines and my camera paints with its capabilities.

Please feel free to add any comments and share your wisdom (tips or tricks) that you have picked up along the way.

And do check out my How-To and Birding pages as well.

Day 234 - Relearning the Alphabet: The Letter "A"

"A" for Airport

Taken at the Detroit airport -

I was really fascinated by the display of lights to soft music while I was changing terminals.  I knew I had to snap this scene even though there wasn't a lot of time between connections.

Taken with my 18 - 55 mm lens, handheld at ISO 800.  I slowed down the shutter to 0.3s, as I wanted to capture the busy traffic flowing through this area - passengers rushing to catch their next flight.

The composition for the first shot could have been more centred, but I wanted to include the motion blur of the passer by.   However, the colours were mesmerizing - therefore I decided to keep it regardless of the not-so-pleasing compo.
