To all ye who want to paint with light ...

I should have started this blog many moons ago as I started experiencing the joys of rediscovering the art of photography. But as the saying goes - it's better late, than never!
So, here I am, in the hopes of recording what I learn as I progress from ignorance to enlightenment; about what my eyes can see that my camera can capture; and, what my mind imagines and my camera paints with its capabilities.

Please feel free to add any comments and share your wisdom (tips or tricks) that you have picked up along the way.

And do check out my How-To and Birding pages as well.

Day 228 - Relearning the Alphabet: The Letter "G"

"G" for Glowing

I was going to do "H", but I know that, that's an idea I have already got on my to-do list.  That's saved for a day when I totally run out of ideas.  Thus, today was the day of the "G".

The image was shot with the 90 mm lens, f/4.0, 1.3s, ISO 100, AWB, Manual Mode.  Click on the picture to enlarge the image - you will see the glow in the bulbs.

  1. Remind me never to skip day or two of reading my Google Reader. Whoa got to catch up now!

All photos are very good. I might try this week, some infrared shot of my Christmas tree. Both B&W and the color ones. All depends if it's a nice sunny day.

  2. Thanks, Cathy! I know what you mean about skipping days. Reminds me I need to see what you've been up to! ;-)

I'm definitely looking forward to your IR shot. Do you have a filter for that?

  3. Yes, I do, it's the Hoya R72 one. it's pretty good. There's other ones you can use but they can be rather expensive. As in, a couple hundred dollars!!
