Day 324 - Dusting off ...

... my long-forgotten book of poetry, I found a sheet with a short poem I had written years ago.  I can't remember when exactly, but I know it was definitely when I lived in Ottawa.  I do remember buying that notepad from my favourite dollar store close to where I lived back then.

And coincidentally, the poem was written in Spring.  As always, my poems are childish, and silly, but I thought I'd share it anyway. ;-)

Winter's gone; welcome Spring!
How cheerful looks everything.
In the trees the birds do sing
While shrubs are busy flowering.
All the world looks glad and bright
In the mellow dawning light.

So, I decided to find another one of my favourite Spring poems - this time by Shakespeare. :)

Day 313 - His Holiness, the Northern Cardinal

And where would you expect to see such elevated spirits?  Of course, at great elevations - on top of the tallest trees, where even a 250 mm lens would have trouble beholding them!

Day 249 - The Hope of Spring

I got myself a pot of tulips yesterday, in preparation for Spring.  I know, I know, it's still a long way to go and it definitely doesn't look or feel like Spring yet (it's -23 deg C with the chill factor even as I write) but the days have started getting longer.  Have you taken the time to notice that yet?  Well, I have!  Simply because I am again looking forward to going out and enjoying the outdoors!  I become very optimistic the moment December 21 comes and goes - it just means the days will get longer, albeit, only a minute a day to start with.

I got quite a few keeper shots from my little photoshoot with the tulips.  Tell me, which one's your favourite?
